Con miedo a los fantasmas, Sarah crey贸 que si ve铆an que ella no formaba parte de la construcci贸n, quiz谩s no dejar铆an de atormentarla.

聽https://winchestermysteryhouse.com/

The story started with the聽Winchester Repeating Arms Company that made the Winchester’s family become rich by selling rifles. Those arms were used to kill people, american natives against north americans during 1860 decade.

In 1880, William Wirt Winchester inherited from his father the company and more than 20 million dollars. Unfortunately, one year after, he died when he was only 43 years. Sarah Winchester, his wife, inherited the company and all the money from his died husband, but she was in a completely deep sadness mood.

She could’t belive that she had lost her husband and few years before, their daughter. Looking for answers to her bad luck, she visited a witch. Thah woman told her that she was cursed, because their family became rich by selling weapons used for killing people. So all the souls lost in between life and death because of a Winchester rifle will haunt her forever.

The witch, thell her that the only thing Sarah could do was to build a house for this spirits but it had to be under construction, ortherwise, the ghost will never let her go.

Since then, Sarah started her construction, there would be someone working on it for 24h, 7 days a week during all year until she died. She felt that if she just ordered the building, the spirtis would haunt her anyway, so she decided to take part in and organize and design the construction.

In 1906 an earthquacke destroyed part of the house and few areas had to be rebuilt. Before the earthquacke, it had 7 floors, and nowadays it’s 4 floors. Also, Sarah built and rebuilt few parts of the house to extend few years of the construction.

The building is renowned for having several curious designs like doors and stairs to nowhere, tiny rooms, windows on the floor and corridors that simulated labyrinths. It was an eccentric construction, Sarah who became and expert in rituals and spiritism, ordered rooms for celebrating spiritism sessions to talk with the ghosts. Also, she thought that the number 13 would protect her from the death, so there were 13 bathrooms, to get to one of them there where 13 stair-steps and 13 windows. On her dorm, there were 13 hangers with 13 dresses for her sessions too.

She tried to talk with the spirits but she wanted to scape from them too. So she never slept more than 2 nights in the same dorm, to mislead the ghosts and not be found.

Without any doubt there’s a lot of mysteries and mysticism between this walls and the huge construction, which was ended after 38 years (when Sarah died), was such an innovation for this time.

After Sarah’s death, her nephew sold the house at an auction, and the new owners opened to he public.

There are few tours to visit the haunted house, visitors say that they can feel spirtis’ presence, strange noises and strong breezes without sense. Altough, the biggest fear for those who get into the Winchester house is to get lost inside and never come back! Even the builders had to bring maps with them to find the exit…

If you are planning a trip around California, take a look on the Winchester’s tours, I’m sure it would be a different and kind of scary experience聽https://winchestermysteryhouse.com/
